ECONOMY | Axis and Allies RTS

Axis and Allies

Economy: One of the most important aspects of Axis and Allies RTS. Many times in-game situations will largely control how you develop your Economy... If you are planning an early game infantry push, or your base is located in the front, you might spend more on regiments and less on the HQ's (which bolster your economy). If you have plans on really getting your economy going, or your base is located in the back, you might spend more on HQ's and less on your armed forces. However, as always, make sure to grab nearby or crucial cities, and don't leave your teamates hanging if they need your support on the front lines.

TERRAIN | Axis and Allies RTS

Axis and Allies

Victory will go to those whom best understand and utilize terrain to their advantage, for example, by occupying beneficial terrain, or forcing the enemy to fight from poor terrain. When exploited properly, terrain also can be used to help corner, outflank, or surround your enemies.

Basic Strategy - RTS

Axis and Allies

Axis and Allies, like many other RTS's, is all about economy (eco for short) and efficient control (micro for short) of fighting units. It'd be unwise to presuppose that both aspects of the game are equally as important in Axis and Allies because micro is a bit more important than eco. You can make all the money you want and buy whatever unit you want, but if you do not know how to efficiently handle them, winning will be a tough feat, if not impossible. What makes micro even more crucial to master, opposed to eco, is that in Axis and Allies, your units can heal themselves automatically (as long as they are in supply range). This means that your units can be infinitely recycled for battle. The fewer units you lose, the less money you need to spend on them and as a result, you can spend more money on improving your eco.

Unfortunately, in Axis and Allies, all countries are not made equally. USA is pretty much the best country in the game, followed by Great Britain and Japan. The two worst countries are Germany and Russia. On top of country inequality, there exists general inequality. Generals with the special of a bomb (V-rocket, Carpet bomb, nuke) and temporary economy boosts have a giant advantage over generals who don't have them.

The game play of Axis and Allies can be logically divided into roughly 3 battle-type stages:

Infantry, Mech (short for mechanized unit), and Tanks

Military Tactics and Strategy in Real Time Strategy - RTS

Axis and Allies

Military Tactics
Military tactics entail the management and maneuvering of forces to capture objectives and/or defeat the enemy. Tactics must be adapted to the current conditions, and are chosen with regard to the size and type of forces available; taking into account the size and strength of enemy forces. Other important factors in determining tactics are logistics, terrain, reconnaissance, and the likely tactics of the enemy.

One of the beautiful things about the Axis and Allies real-time strategy pc game is that all these classic military tactics can be used in the field! Included are some examples of how to best use each tactic to p00n noobs young and old!

Nations at War by Blackj3sus

Axis and Allies
Nations at War is a standalone add-on for Axis and Allies RTS, that allows you to track a progressive campaign similar to the WWII mode of A&A. Players fight for territory on the map in Nations at War, and battles are decided (according to rules) in Axis and Allies RTS LAN play; via Hamachi. No modding of A&A is required. Check the forum for signup and/or details on any current and past campaigns.

GameRanger - Possible Solution for Axis Allies RTS Online

Axis and Allies
Someone mentioned GameRanger at TimeGate

I know there was a guy advertising game ranger to Kohan II and I ended up using it for other games (worked very well and I was much impressed) -

Since the Kohan II Engine and A&A game engines are very similar, and they appear to have the same Gamespy integrated coding GameRanger should probably work for you guys and you might want to try moving your games over to game ranger until the Gamespy hosting is resolved.

GameRanger looks like a possibility, especially if it working for KohanII. "Axis and Allies" is listed as supported, but it might be original 1997 version... It's got a server list, chat room, buddy list, and ladder capability.
